Our HAF sessions in Newcastle are back this summer, and we are now accepting bookings. We are back at Fawdon Community Centre, with all sessions FREE and a healthy lunch provided. Are you passionate about community fitness and making health accessible to everyone? North East Dance is looking for enthusiastic instructors to lead our vital outreach classes across the region!
Because these are community outreach sessions held in various local venues, flexibility and absolute reliability are key. Having a valid driver's license and access to a car is highly preferred to help you move between locations easily—though if you are exceptionally reliable, flexible, and can guarantee you will never miss a session using public transport, we still want to hear from you!

North East Dance CIC is proud to launch our Move, Connect, Belong! initiative funded by Sport England. This project is designed to support Sunderland’s emerging diverse communities through accessible, culturally responsive physical activity. We are working with local BAME-led organisations and provide both outreach and sessions at our community hub. Our delivery includes women-only and youth-specific options to ensure everyone feels welcome and safe while getting active. These sessions are completely free and focus on reducing social isolation and building long-term fitness habits for the local communities.
We are delighted to announce our 'Vital Moves' project. Thanks to funding from the Northern Cancer Alliance, managed by Point North, we will deliver a dedicated programme of dance and exercise activities specifically designed for individuals living with and beyond cancer. Keep an eye out and feel free to share with anyone who might benefit from this support. We would love to reach those who need it most.

As we reach the end of a very busy and successful year, the team at North East Dance CIC would like to thank everyone who has danced, trained, volunteered, supported, and collaborated with us in 2025. Your energy and commitment have helped us grow our community, deliver inspiring programmes, and support more people than ever before. We are taking a well-earned festive break and will be closed from 17th December until we fully reopen on Monday 5th January. Some fitness activities in South Tyneside leisure centres will continue during the holiday period. These sessions will run on a reduced timetable and according to the updates on their channels, please follow the individual updates on their social media pages and websites for exact dates and times. As we recharge and reflect, we are excited to return stronger than ever in the new year, with new projects, community opportunities, and creative programmes across the region. We are slowly winding down for the holidays, but two of our fully funded community projects are still running across County Durham! Activities will restart in January, so keep an eye on our social media and website for updates. At Hamsteels Community Centre, we're offering free fitness sessions for the local community, with a special focus on older adults. This programme is proudly funded by the ESB West Durham Windfarm through Point North. We're also delivering a boys' fitness and mentorship project at Tudhoe Community Centre, in partnership with Legs Creative Arts CIC. Boys aged 12+ are welcome to get involved and develop fitness skills, confidence, and positive connections. Sessions are funded by the Community Grants Programme. Want to join us or learn more? Our Ageless Athletes project has now come to a close, and what an incredible journey it has been! Over the past year, we have had the joy of delivering inclusive fitness to seniors across Sunderland, from gentle seated exercises and circuits to social dancing sessions. Seeing our participants enjoy themselves, stay active, and connect with others has been truly heartwarming. A huge thank you goes to Chillingham House for partnering with us on this project and helping us reach more members of the community. We are also immensely grateful to all the seniors who took part, as well as our dedicated staff and volunteers – your energy, support, and enthusiasm made this project so special. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Sport England for their generous support, which made Ageless Athletes possible and helped us bring these activities to life for the local community. We have loved every moment of delivering this project and can't wait to continue supporting the health and wellbeing of Sunderland's older residents.
After an inspiring journey, our Sport England-funded project, Ageless Athletes, is coming to a close in the next couple of weeks. Over the course of the programme, we have supported participants of all ages to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of inclusive movement. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sport England for funding this initiative and making it possible. Most importantly, thank you to all the participants who embraced the sessions with energy, determination, and a love for dance and activity – you are the true stars of this project! As we wrap up, we will be celebrating achievements with a series of final sessions, sharing participant stories, and reflecting on the incredible progress made.

We are excited to announce the launch of Kids Together! Volume 2, a continuation project funded by the CDCF Poverty Hurts programme. Starting in September 2024 and running until February 2025, the sessions will be held at Peterlee Leisure Centre and are designed to engage children in street dance, commercial dance, and elements of gymnastics. This July and August, we were proud to deliver again the HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) project at Fawdon Community Centre in Newcastle. As usual we supported children eligible for free school meals by providing them with a free, healthy lunch and a range of fun and active sessions.
Our staff have been very busy these past few months gaining new skills and finishing various trainings and courses. We always strive to improve our services and deliver more individual oriented services.
As we're nearing to Easter holidays, we're planning another round of our Street Games funded Newcastle's Best Spring Ever sessions at Fawdon CC. As always we're looking to support children on school meals throughout the holiday providing fun and diverse activities and FREE healthy lunches. We are starting 2024 as we mean to go on, very busy! The renovation works at our Sunderland based studio are nearing completion and we are very excited to share with you the new youth hub and community space.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from North East Dance CIC! With the New Year approaching we're taking a moment to acknowledge all of our achievements this year, we're very proud of our achievements and the impact we've made and very excited to see what new challenges 2024 will bring us.
Alongside our regular contracted work we have been busy delivering and planning projects thanks to funding from County Durham Community Foundation. Our 'Kids Together' project funded by Poverty Hurts grant has been a great success and we're excited to carry this work over into 2024.
We are making our beautiful studio even better! Unfortunately this means that until January 2024 our offices and dance studio are closed. All our outreach work is running as normal.
We are into the final week of our Newcastle Best Summer Ever sessions which have brought amazing opportunities to the children in Newcastle area! Our instructors have loved working with the local communities in Fawdon and Walker with HAF to deliver these sessions.
HAF Newcastle will begin in just only a few weeks. This summer we will be delivering in Fawdon Community Centre and in Walker Activity Dome, with dance and sports activities from 10am till 2pm. FREE healthy lunch provided for all the children attending.
We're extremely happy to be taking part in the Spring HAF initiative in Newcastle, our instructors can't wait to begin their activities; dance, fitness, sports and games for children aged 5-12 years old.

With 2023 beginning we are excited for our new ventures and projects! After a very busy first week back we're currently tidying up our delivery schedules, with more classes than ever.
Once again, we are set to begin our delivery of the Newcastle's Best Winter Ever project thanks to HAF! Sessions to begin 27th of December and be spread across The John Marley Centre, Ouseburn Community Centre, and Walker Activity Dome.
Our office is due to close for the Holidays on 23rd of December. However, we will be still delivering plenty of fitness sessions in South Tyneside according to the leisure centres' Christmas opening times.

'All the single ladies' - a new project of activity funded by the NHS Community Connector fund for women in County Durham will begin on July 27th in Spennymoor Community Centre.

This week we have been recording our dare to be routines for our new topics in our dare to be… programme! North East Dance have created their own unique programme which includes 18 social issues that young adults face today.
We have now created a new Media Centre on our website so that our clients and customers can access online classes during this COVID-19 Lockdown period.
We are currently delivering FREE dance sessions 11.30am-1.30pm Monday to Friday in Heaton Park, St Lawrence Park and Leazes Park, Newcastle. These sessions are for children aged between 5-12years old.
This week we have been successful in obtaining funding from CDCF to work with The Deafened Group based in Stanley. The funding will enable a small group of older people with moderate to severe hearing impairments to attend seated exercise/dance sessions.

We are pleased to announce that our fabulous teacher Sandra Zawadzka is now teaching all day on a Wednesday at Bridgewater Primary School in Newcastle, working with all year groups from nursery to year 6.
